On Saturday, Trevor and I had such a blast with our niece, Lindsay, and our nephews, Gavin and Zane. We were wracking our brains all week trying to think of the most exciting place to take them, and finally concluded to take them to the greatest place on earth. No, we didn't take them to the circus. What would give you that idea? Actually, we journeyed to NICKELCADE- truly the greatest place on earth. Trevor and I love the Nickelcade, because that is where we went on most, if not all, our dates in High School. Sidenote: We would always spend all of our tickets on those neon bracelets. Then, we would slip them on eachother's wrist and tell the other to wear it always as our sign of love and adoration. Definitely our finest moments. :)
Well anyways, even though half the games were broken and there were so many stains on the carpet that looked like they came straight out of the 80's, we had so much fun. We started out with air hockey, and it was honestly so cute to see how often the puck would get stuck in the middle of table as the children's arms were to short to reach in the middle to grab it. After a while, they developed a system where both would throw their hitter across to jar the puck towards the other in a mighty little switch off. Lindsay became my prodigy as I showed her my prized ticket winning machine-The Bowler. Basically, you put a nickel in and it rolls down the bowling lane and depending on what bowling pin the nickel hits you get a certain amount of tickets. She and I went estatic when she hit the highest pin, and won 25 tickets. I taught her well. :) Then, for the rest of the night, all we heard about was how we were able to afford such awesome prizes for everyone because Lindsay hit the big 25. She definitely can make me laugh. One last thing about Nickelcade, and then I swear I'll shut up! It was just so much fun to watch Gavin play Skee ball. He would crank his arm straight out sideways and chuck the ball down the lane as hard as he could. There were two likely scenarios after a Gavin throw. First, the ball would zig zag slamming both walls and eventually roll back down to Gavin or secondly it miss his lane completely and soar into the neighbor's jack pot holes. Anyways, Nickelcade was such a good choice.
Afterwards, we took them all to McDonald's- only the finest cuisine and entertainment for my favorite niece and nephews. On our way there Trevor was trying to convince them that they wanted something else. But apparently the McDonald's by Granny Annie's (whoever that is) has the best play place EVER!!! Who knew? Then Trevor then started teasing saying that all that McDonald's has is "Cheesy Boogers." Then he asked Lindsay if she would like to eat a cheesy booger. To which she disgustingly replied, "No!" Then you hear Gavin who is confused in the back quietly say, "But, Lindsay, it has cheese on it?" Haha, I don't know where he was getting this stuff from, but the whole night he had the funniest things to say. Like, for instance, I had been promising them icecream ever since before Nickelcade. Well, when they are all finished with their happy meals, Trevor decides that each of us should line up and beg for icecream or he wasn't going to buy any for anyone. Well, I start first saying, "Please, Trevor, I really would like some icecream! I've been the bestest wife." Then Zane starts, "Please!! Please!! Trevor can we get icecream." Lindsay comes up, kneels down on both knees while madly batting her eyes, "Please! Icecream!!!" Then Gavin is last, that cute little stink, and he comes up to Trevor and gets down on both of his knees. Then starts waving his arms and yells, "MEEEEEOOOOOOOWWWWW!!!" Haha, Trevor and I were practically on the floor rolling over. It was so hilarious. After Gavin's performance, we definitely thought the little tykes deserved all the icecream they could handle.
We ended the night we some jumping on the tramp and playing good old fashioned ghost in the graveyard. They just loved jumping around on the tramp with the blowup ax we won as a prize from Nickelcade. We played that as soon as someone's limb was hit with the ax they had to pretend like they didn't have that limb anymore and jump around footless or armless. Well, everyone else played like that and Gavin just ran around and didn't care. :) Zane and Gavin both have the most evil battle cries!! They definitely got that from Dan. Anyways, Trevor and I just loved babysitting and those kids! But by the end of the night we were more than tired and happy to give them back!! For the next couple of years, if Trevor and I ever talk crazy about getting me pregnant, we'll just call up Heather and borrow her kids and remember how much energy they have!:) That should definitely do the trick!

Sounds like everyone had a blast! I love that Trevor made everyone beg for ice cream and Gavin's response was to act like a cat. Kids are hilarious!!
Hahahahahahahahaha! I am laughing at this post! What an awesome aunt and uncle you two are! I'm sorry I didn't read this sooner(I've been slacking in the blogging and blog stalking department). THANK YOU again so much for taking them out that night. They LOVE you two so much! Whenever we go to the Doney's they are always asking if Trevor and Liz will be there. Love you Liz!
